Up next in our Centennial Interview Series is the winner of the 2006 event, Sam Hornish, Jr. We honestly weren’t sure what to expect going into our chat with Sam, but he was forthcoming with his responses and spoke very fondly of his memories of Indianapolis. He walked us through his career at the Speedway in great detail from his rookie year in 2000 through his win and on to his last event in 2007. He talked about what it was like to make a pass for the win on final lap of the race and keep an Andretti from collecting a winner’s ring. He also talked about driving for Roger Penske during the Month of May. After telling us what being a champion of the Indianapolis 500 means to him, Sam responded to the often-asked question: will he be back?
