The last of the one-time winners to be featured in our Centennial Interview Series is the winner of the 2008 event, Scott Dixon. Scott talked about his rookie year at IMS in 2003, including his memories of Tony Renna. He also discussed his Month of May in 2008 and being the first Indianapolis 500 winner from New Zealand. He spoke in detail about being the first to take the checkered flag, how long it took for the experience to sink in, and what returning to IMS as the reigning champion was like. Scott also shared his favorite memory and greatest disappointment at the Speedway before letting us in on what being an champion of The Greatest Spectacle in Racing means to him — and commenting on New Zealand’s greatest sporting obsession, the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
