5:00 PM CT (John) — Thanks to IndyCar, I now have the exact quotes from Justin Wilson when I asked him to compare the feel of his car so far this year versus 2012 when he won the race. Justin had some interesting thoughts on what the race pace might end up being tomorrow night. From Justin Wilson:

“I’d say now we have a little more downforce. I think everyone is going to put more downforce on for the race. The more you run, the less tire degradation you’ll have, the less you’ll slide around, and therefore look after the tires.

I think everyone will run in the 210 to 200 range (over the course of a stint) instead of the 214 to 195 range that we saw over the last couple of years. The degradation is going to flatten out a little bit and everyone’s going to be the same.

You still have to race hard. Hopefully the downforce will allow us to be little bit closer to each other and make it interesting. There were times last year where it was frustrating because you couldn’t get close enough. Now, with a little bit more downforce, I hope we can get a little closer, get stuck in, and try to pass people.”
