With the Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston now just a couple of weeks away, we’re ramping up our next charity support weekend!

This is the second phase of the charity program initiated by our very generous sponsor, who asked us to connect three IZOD IndyCar Series event with three different charities to raise funds for them in conjunction with our coverage.

For the Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston, we’ll be pairing our coverage with the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana. For almost a quarter of a century, DII has been the proven source for tutoring and support that enables individuals with dyslexia to overcome their unanticipated inability to read.

On everything we do relating to the Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston — including on-the-ground coverage by MFW co-editor Steph Wallcraft and contributor John Lingle all weekend long — you’ll see the banner above. If you enjoy our coverage as it unfolds, we would be very grateful if you could click on the banner to visit DII’s website, diin.org, and make a donation.

In support of this initiative, we’ve also received some donations from Dale Coyne Racing’s Justin Wilson. Justin was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 13 and has been very generous in his support of people and organizations battling the same challenges that he faced growing up. Justin has kindly donated some race-worn items that we will auction off to raise money for the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana over the coming weeks.

The first lot up for bid is a pair of race-worn gloves, both autographed by Justin Wilson, that were worn throughout the IZOD IndyCar Series double-header race weekend this year in Toronto. The auction is now active and can be accessed using the link under the banner on this page. The auction ends next Tuesday morning, September 24th, so please keep checking back over the coming days to see how the auction is unfolding.

We hope you’ll bid generously and help us raise donations for DII now and throughout the coming weeks. Thank you for your support of the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana and of MoreFrontWing.com!
