It made its first appearance in the chassis survey that went to Downforce members yesterday, but more detailed images have emerged today of Swift’s latest design proposal, labeled as car #50.

Credit for the initial posting of these images is due to motorracingblog.nl. Incidentally, an interview with Swift’s Director of Motorsports, Casper van der Schoot, is part of the same post.  Should you wish to run the Dutch text through an online translator, it can be found here: http://www.motorracingblog.nl/?p=3920.

I haven’t yet offered a personal opinion about any of the cars while posting the images, but this one compels me. Let’s put it this way: I wouldn’t kick it out of bed for eating cookies. Although the DeltaWing concept is important in many ways, Swift’s initial proposal was a solid one with lots of innovative ideas, and this iteration seems to address a number of the issues identified with the earlier renditions — most particularly the need for more sponsor space on the sidepods.

The developing story of the 2012 car gets more interesting by the day.  Planet-IRL will continue to provide updates as they become available.
