The bulk of the episode focuses on our interview with Tony Cotman. Tony reviewed the planning process for the new Edmonton track layout and what his expectations are for this coming weekend. He also updated us on the status of the 2012 car from the point of view of the engines, the tub, and the aero kits. Finally, he offered some very candid thoughts on Race Control in both the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights and shed some further light onto some of the lingering controversies coming out of the race in Toronto.

Actually Joey Hand races for Rahal Letterman Racing in the American Le Mans Series.
Still don’t agree with the Barnhart/Cotman assertion that “you can’t make somebody MORE last”. I’d vastly prefer that they make offending drivers come in and do a green flag drive through or stop and go, even if already laps down, so at the very least, the recordbook can show that those guys were penalized for what they did (and also eliminate situations like we had at Long Beach where Helio actually restarted ahead of Will Power, who he’d just rammed). I have a feeling that this is something that I’ll never be satisfied on, though, given the solidarity shown by all the guys in Race Control…
