INDYCAR supplies engine consumption update

INDYCAR provided an update today of the engines used thus far in the 2013 season by each team in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

According to Series rules, any car that makes a change to its sixth or higher fresh engine in a season will serve a 10-position penalty on the starting grid for the race following the change. Also, new for 2013, engine manufacturers do not score points toward the manufacturers’ championship for any entry that is on engine #6 or higher.
