INDIANAPOLIS (May 1, 2013) Panther DRR, known to long-time fans and supporters as Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, will be scaling back its participation in the IZOD IndyCar Series following the 97th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 26, 2013. Panther DRR is committed to competing in this weekend’s Sao Paulo Indy 300 and the Indianapolis 500; however, does not currently have plans to enter the No. 22 in the remainder of the 2013 season.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will retain a core group of employees at the team’s Carmel, Indiana headquarters following the Indianapolis 500. The team is currently developing a strategy to compete in one or more motorsports series in the immediate future and take advantage of new opportunities in the racing and automotive world. Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has plans to field at least one entry in the 2014 Indianapolis 500.

“We have a long history at the Indianapolis 500 and that is our main focus right now,” stated team co-owner Dennis Reinbold.

Robbie Buhl, the other team co-owner, added, “We have to thank our great network of partners that have supported us and we want to continue to perform at our highest level for them. We’ll be working hard to bring in additional sponsors as we rebuild after Indy this year and look to next season.”

Prior to the 2012 Indianapolis 500, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing entered a strategic alliance with Panther Racing. “We have a great technical partnership with Panther Racing and we look forward to continuing that through the Indy 500,” said Reinbold. “We wish the No. 4 National Guard car, Panther Racing and JR Hildebrand all the best in the second half of their season. Our decision will not impact Panther Racing’s operations in any way.”

Servia and Panther DRR will return to the track in Brazil this weekend after a 6th place finish in the streets of Long Beach two weeks ago.
