Name: Neil Campbell

Team: Andretti Autosport (Car #27 — Mike Conway)

Position: Rear End Mechanic; inside front tire

Total years in racing: Almost 20

Years with current team: 4

Previous teams you’ve worked with: Forsythe Racing, KV Racing, Indy Lights team

Weekday duties: Build the rear end of car and the fuel cell.

Race weekend duties: Maintain the rear end of the car and make suspension changes. During the race, I change the inside front tire.

How you got started in racing: I got into racing through a family friend in Canada who had a race team and needed help. The next thing I knew, I was moving to Indy to work in racing.

Favorite part of job: The race weekend. The race is most exciting part, and it’s a pretty big high to be there in the middle of it all.

Most difficult part of job: The pressure when car is leading the race, there are nine laps to go, and you’re wondering if every part of the car is tight enough and will hold out for the rest of the race to win.

Career highlight in racing: The time I spent Forsythe was memorable, working with Paul Tracy and Greg Moore with lots of race wins. Every year, you have a favorite moment that makes it special. So far this year, it’s winning at Long Beach with Mike Conway.

Favorite way to spend an off-weekend: Spending time with my wife and daughter as much as possible. If I have a chance, I like to play golf with the boys on the team.
