Terry Angstadt addresses media at Chicagoland
Following the Indy Lights qualifying this afternoon, news broke that an IndyCar owners’ meeting was being held at Chicagoland Speedway to address the future of the IndyCar Series. After the Indy Lights race, President of the IRL Commercial Division Terry Angstadt stopped by the media center to update reporters on some of the issues raised during that meeting.
Chicago: Friday thoughts
The day has wrapped up for the IndyCar Series, and if today is any indication, tomorrow is going to be a hell of a race!
Random thoughts on 2009 thus far
Since I’m stuck for 6+ hours at the Seattle airport, I’ve got plenty of time to jot down some thoughts on what we’ve seen in the IndyCar season so far. I haven’t reviewed anything, so whatever comes to mind are those events that really stick out.
Sonoma: Weekend thoughts
For all the jokes about Snorenoma and Infini-yawn, I recommend attending the event if you get the chance. The area is striking, the facilities and staff are very nice, and the racing isn’t always a bore.
Breathe a bit easier, fans: Danica is staying
News is starting to leak from Curt Cavin via Twitter that Danica Patrick will indeed be staying in the IndyCar Series next year with AGR.
Costly crash
The practice accident involving Nelson Philippe, Will Power and E.J. Viso has cost the series two competitors for this weekend and possibly the rest of the season. Viso is fine and should race tomorrow, but Philippe and Power are both out for an undetermined amount of time.
Ovals and roads, a perilous dichotomy
So much has been made by so many people regarding the 2010 IndyCar schedule that just the mention of it nearly makes me nauseated. However, the introduction of more and more road courses introduces a perilous dichotomy to the IndyCar family.

Initial thoughts on the 2010 IndyCar schedule
My initial thoughts are quite mixed. It’s nice that the League has put the schedule out this early, and it’s good that there actually seems to be a market for IndyCar races these days. However, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed in the announcement of two ovals being lost and two road courses being added.
