Wait the Leader Circle entry from Dragon Racing was for the Legge and the #6 not Sébastien Bourdais with the #7??? Are you sure about this as this was not what was announced back when ECR and Dragon were first awarded the Leader Circle spots?
Brett, we were under the same impression, but we received documentation from INDYCAR earlier this week indicating that Bourdais is in fact the non-Leaders Circle entry for Lotus Dragon Racing. We made the necessary corrections in all our Event Summary pages.
Wow okay that only makes the outrage over the unworthiness of Dragon getting it even worse! So now a seat buyer that is a moving chicane (almost to the level of Milka Duno) also gets rewarded with Leader Circle money. And what exposure has the series gotten from having this car on the grid so far?
Don’t forget Bourdais would likely not have a ride and Dragon likely wouldn’t have fielded a team this year if it weren’t for Kat. I agree that the Leaders Circle money should have gone to Herta,but that’s not Kat’s fault, the league made that decision. Even with an underpowered Lotus engine with serious ECU problems in all three races, she is about five seconds a lap faster than Milka on road courses and she also knows how to move over when necessary. She is driving with the same engine that was intermittently popping and missing through Long Beach (she had to be push started from a pit stop because the electronics didn’t work to start it).
