Steph, Just noticed that neither this podcast nor episode 61 showed up in iTunes subscription. The last one that appears to have posted their is “Meet Beax Barfield (which was excellent by the way).
Wesley, this is my absolute LEAST favorite thing to hear/say when dealing with computer issues, but I think the issue might be on your end. Both podcasts 61 and 62 downloaded to my iTunes automatically this morning when I opened iTunes, and we’ve heard from at least three other people that they got the episodes without any issue. Is there any chance you might be behind an IT firewall that is blocking the download? You don’t accidentally have that option checked that says you haven’t listened to an episode for a while so iTunes has stopped downloading it, do you?
Agree with Paul on closing the pits under yellow – I’ve never understood it. I know things can get a bit confusing when F1 stays open under SC but some of the best strategy gambles are done this way.
F1 does also go to Singapore which is a street race. Valencia too but that’s hardly the same! Montreal and Albert Park are semi-street at least in F1 terms. I thought Rubens would get a top ten, I think the problems he had with the car in Friday free practice really didn’t help his transition. I was disappointed with Legge as well, and that includes this weekend so far.
Agree completely on ABC, lacking in so many ways. I really thought they’d step it up this year.. still waiting. Speaking of 2 or 3 stop-strategy, that’s the thing I want to hear from ABC/NBC, in those terms not necessarily ‘the top six haven’t pitted yet but the rest have’. Okaay.. tell me what that means and why. I want to know who is on 2-stop and who on 3. Maybe I missed it, it’s possible I missed it what with jumping between Twitter and comments elsewhere.
Poor old Vince Welch looked out of breath after he hustled to interview Helio who was still in his car literally moments before ABC bailed on the broadcast.
Barber looks like it’ll be the most fun IndyCar race there yet, and 2011 wasn’t awful unless you made a point to decide that it was. And I thought that before I saw the qualifying results. 🙂 Shame I’ll miss it live.
I hope if Rubens does win he does his silly ‘misstep’ podium dance. 🙂
My picks: 1. RHR, 2. Power, 3. Helio.
Incidentally, for what little it may be worth on a North American site, some news of developments in UK coverage:
Instead of a dodgy feed, I was able to watch Sky Sports. They have a new dedicated Formula 1 channel but you don’t need to subscribe to the other Sky Sports channels to get it, hence it is available to many more people than Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4. IndyCar was scheduled to be aired live on SSF1 instead of the usual home on SS4. That’s a Big Deal for IndyCar here, particularly as Sky did a good job promoting IndyCar through their F1 coverage.
Problem: F1 ran an hour late due to a red flag, knocking SSF1’s schedules back. This led to the stupid (IMO) decision to drop the live St Pete race to online and ‘interactive’ (press red button) so they could complete their F1 race rerun on SSF1. Big Deal turns into Big Loss for IndyCar.
I understand they’re back to SS4 this week, they only moved last week because SS1-4 were busy. [sigh]
Cool insight into the TV situation in the UK, Pat. Thanks for your input as always!
