SPECTATOR SEATING GUIDE: Grand Prix of Indianapolis

THE VERDICT

Best “if I had all the money in the world and every ticket was available” option: I’d sit in Paddock Penthouse for the start and then run over to NW Vista Deck for the rest of the race. But NW Vista Deck is already sold out for 2014, I’m not in good enough shape to do all of that running, and I don’t have all the money in the world, so…

Best “I need a reserved seat and have a bit of money” option: H stand or south J stand in as high a row as possible. Honorable mention to high-row South Vista, though the south end of the track wouldn’t be my first choice for viewing the road course.

Best “I’m on a serious budget” option: The spectator viewing mound between T7 and T8, hands down. But people will make a beeline for that spot once the gates open, so don’t bother heading this way if you can’t be extremely early. Try the T2 mound instead, or spend $10 more for a reserved seat in the T7 Grandstand.
